ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR
GENUINE 22 KARAT GOLD LEAF VINYL INSTALLATION
We thank you very much for your purchase of Vinyl Gold Leaf lettering. It is permanently bonded at extremely high heat into the "underside" of a special l0-l4 year outdoor life clear Tedlar film that is resistant to chemical corrosion, and ultra-violet light. The genuine 22 Karat gold is physically protected by the film from top surface abrasion because the gold is in the underside of the film. Then a premium grade pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive is applied.
APPLICATION
When you receive your graphic or lettering leave it in a "lay flat" position for one hour to recover its flatness. Then squeegee gentle overall to assure complete flatness.
To install it we suggest the "dry method" if you have experience installing vinyl lettering. The only purpose of the "wet method" is to retard the action of the adhesive to lift the lettering momentarily in case of a mistake. If you don't have experience installing vinyl based lettering and graphics get an experienced person .
Caution: Do not use a "Windex" type solution or a similar ammonia based product to wet the surface.
The solution recommended is a quart of water with 1 o 2 drops of Ivory liquid soap.
After installation, if you are unable to remove a bubble with the squeegee an alternative method is to puncture one side of the bubble and squeegee the air or water toward the hole. Use a needle to puncture the bubble. Never use a blade. Don't worry about very little bubbles, in some weeks the lettering will be completely flat on the surface placed.
Do not place gold leaf or vinyl based lettering or graphics over flat latex or acrylic latex paint.
